Fading days of summer

A new collection of paintings celebrates the dynamic essence of summer. Scenes of backyard sprinkler play, swimming, skateboarding, floating in Blue Hole (apparently there are many swimming holes named Blue Hole) evoke the joys of the season. Most of these paintings have an impressionist style, but I also played with techniques like adding squiggles and marks in pastel or even finger painting to convey movement and energy. The title “Fading Days of Summer” reflects the fleeting nature of summer and the inevitable passage of our youth. It also subtly touches on climate change and drought, hinting at the possible loss of simple pleasures such as running through sprinklers.

This collection is currently exhibited at the Georgetown City Hall. All paintings are for sale; please contact me for information.
